Annotation. The name of the city of Yakutsk was assigned to three military units, of which the most famous is the valiant 42nd Yakut infantry regiment, formed in 1806. the Regiment took part in the wars with Turkey, France, England, Austria-Hungary and in many battles covered itself with military glory. After a separate Treaty between Russia and Germany in March 1918, the regiment was disbanded. Today, a memorial plaque installed in the St. George hall of the Moscow Kremlin, on which is inscribed in gold letters – "42nd Yakut infantry regiment", tells about the past heroic deeds of soldiers.
